Full Moon and Low Tides

As the sun came up this morning the full moon was still in the sky. Barely visible on the horizon at the middle of the picture are the Channel Islands which are off Santa Barbara, more than fifty miles in the distance.

The tide was so low that the ocean floor revealed grasses, starfish and sea anemones.  An English Springer Spaniel couldn't resist taking a swim.

Melinda...

Wasn't that low tide magnificent?

Mary-Laure, Benjy and I were actually lucky enough to see the moonrise as the sun had just finished setting.

There was still a soft, hushed pink to the sky as the moon emerged gigantic, dazzling, over Paradise Cove. What a sight!

BTW, I am now a follower of your blog. :)
