Huntington Art Gallery

Thomas Lawrence's "Sarah Goodin Barrett Moulton: Pinkie," 1794

Thomas Gainsborough's "The Blue Boy," 1770

Joshua Reynold's "Sarah Siddons as the Tragic Muse," 1783-84

The refurbished mansion has opened.  "Pinkie" and "Blue Boy" are in their rightful place.  Just where I first saw them when Dick took me there on one of our first dates many years ago...sigh...

Are these paintings really in Pasadena, California? How did they get there?

Mr. Huntington didn't start collecting until in his 60's. He must have had his checkbook in his hand at all times.
