Warhol in Malibu

Are we all getting our "15 minutes of fame"?  Artist, Andy Warhol, predicted that before the Internet made it a guarantee. 

 This exhibition at The Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art at Pepperdine University in Malibu features over 80 works from his silkscreen portfolios.  It opened on January 16 and continues through April 3, 2016.  

Controversial photographer, Robert Mappelthorpe, captured Andy Warhol in black and white in 1986.  

Mel's Drive In

Mel's Drive In is an icon on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood.  I couldn't miss the opportunity to stop in with Dickey Boy. I wasn't allowed to go to the Sunset Strip as a teenager as my parents feared the bad influences.   As an adult I frequently visit, as many of my interests are there, including: my agent, live music and theater, auction houses, screening rooms, etc.   Every time I go there, now, it is even sweeter.

  

Who's Your Mummy?

"Mummies - New Secrets from the Tombs," is an exhibit currently at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. 

Ancient Peruvians and Egyptians mummified and honored their dead in different ways starting 5,500 to 7,000 years ago.

Another Holiday Party

Being part of a select group of some of the most talented and accomplished women in Malibu is a privilege.  It has been organized for more than 40 years, making the Malibu Woman's Club the oldest club.  Always looking forward to raising funds to benefit student scholarships, the Christmas event benefits pediatric patients at a local hospital.  Our giving members traditionally host the luncheon in a private residence.
