A Heartfelt Journey

We  took a two-day road trip along Highway 1 to Big Sur.  We were stopped, due to a landslide, 30 miles before our destination.  Even so, the trip held many beautiful memories.

Catamaran

We were surprised to see the sailor anchor this catamaran out front overnight, as this is the open sea.  Everything was fine in the morning and he sailed out to the end of the reef and fished.

Wind Surfer

The Cat's Table

Do you remember what you did when you were 11 years old?  In the novel, "The Cat's Table," the elegant prose chronicles the sea voyage of just such a young child, a boy.  He is put on a ship in Sri Lanka and disembarks in London.  The adventures, other passengers, and circumstances are revealed in the beautiful words of the author, Michael Ondaatji.  I didn't want to miss a single word

Hiromi Paper International

I will miss my friend.

We loved seeing art, architecture and gardens together.
One of our favorites was looking at these Japanese papers.
Hiromi Paper International is at the Bergamont Station in Santa Monica.

Rest in Peace - Carolyn Mitchell
